I have always found the Gospel writer Luke’s description of Christ’s nativity particularly interesting.
The Gospel of Luke records the well-known story of the 10 lepers who were healed by Jesus. Jesus told them to go and show themselves to the priests and as they did, they all were healed. But Luke tells us, only one returned to thank Jesus.
Several years ago, a seminary professor I had made a helpful distinction. She explained the difference between a covenant and a contract.
The Preacher reminds us, “There is a time for everything!” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) And many of us feel this fall is a time for getting back to our busy life.
Not too long ago, I met two of our Kirk’s members in the aisles at Walmart. I had not seen them in person since the early days of the pandemic in March 2020, so it was good to catch-up a little.
