According to the church’s calendar, this coming June 5 is a very important date – Pentecost. Pentecost is the Greek name for the Jewish Festival of Weeks (Shavuot), a harvest festival in ancient Israel. For the Rabbis, Shavuot is celebrated as the day God gave Israel the Torah.
